How much is a decent gaming computer?

Or what would be the cheapest computer I can buy that could run HL2 and stuff like that?

Got mine for around $300 and upgraded the video card for about $40. That was about a year ago so you can probly do the same for cheaper. Mine runs most source games pretty well.

Compaq QF5110 I'm pretty sure. Dual core AMD with 3GB of RAM.

Athlon II X2/X3/X4
4GB of RAM
HD5670

I think all that might fit in less then $400, not to mention actually run Source on High.

Depends on where you live, and what your currency is really. I hate giving product ideas just to find out they live in some country I never even really looked at electronics sites for.

Plus what your budget range would be. Rather than asking for a cheap system, tell us what you have to spare, and then we can start suggesting some ideas.

I'm actually broke right now, but I think I'll be able to have at least 200 American dollars by January.

Just $100 is barely enough to get you a 4GB memory kit. You would still need a CPU, GPU, motherboard, hard drive, optical drive, a case... and a powersupply of course.

Why does everyone always overdo it by so much. My rig works great for games, though i probly should have shelled out a little bit more on the video card.

Because Salanos can tell the difference between 60 FPS and 59 FPS and he just can't stand it.

Last time I was asking they said somewhere between £350-£500, so at that rate you should be good to go by this time next year.

Same time as me
